We didn't plan much for today because the weather forecast called for rain and thunderstorms all day. So we got up the minute we had a break from the rain and headed into the town of Banff. But before we could do that... Mike had to pack up the campsite. And not without a little help from w full grown black bear. As he was packing up the tent, a man caught his attention and said "hey. There's a bear behind you" just as he turned, he saw a full grown bear running through our site, just meters away from him. It all happened so fast that he didn't even have time to grab a camera.
When we got to Banff we walked into the tourist centre and asked for suggestions for a rainy day. We were pointed into the direction of a couple of shorts walks. The first one was the trail to Bow Falls. It was along a river and ended up at a small falls about a kilometer or so down.

The next hike was about 1.5 hours long and a 2.5 km hike up to the summit of Tunnel Mountain here we got an amazing view of the city of Banff. We opted out of paying the $30 a person to go up the gondola and were satisfied with that decision after we got to this peak for the view.

We treated ourselves to an inexpensive hotel room to get a solid sleep to prepare for a big day tomorrow. We took it really easy the ret of the day and walked around the city and saw The Rise of the Planet of the Apes in the local theater.
